The ALTO Universal Stair is a heavy-duty aluminium scaffold staircase system designed to provide safe, compliant access for construction, industrial and maintenance environments. Manufactured in the UK, it offers hire companies, scaffolding contractors and specialist industries a reliable and durable alternative to ladders and traditional heavy galvanised steel temporary stair systems.

Originally designed for tube-and-fitting scaffolding, the Universal Stair can be installed across a wide range of lift heights and floor levels while maintaining level treads and secure access. Supplied pre-assembled for rapid installation, each stair unit unfolds quickly and can be fitted using standard scaffold tube fixings and a scaffolder's spanner.

Built without compromise, the ALTO Universal Stair is engineered for strength, long-term durability and dependable performance on demanding sites. Fully compliant with BS EN 12811 in all permissible configurations, it is available in six standard sizes, with non-standard options available to suit specialist applications.

The Universal Stair can also be supplied with a variety of interface connectors, including slab hangers for mounting stairs directly to structures, or specialist connectors that create extended stair flights for embankment and other challenging access applications.
