Class-leading Towers.

ALTO HD Stair Tower

Easy Access As Standard.

The Alto HD Stair Tower is the only one of its kind on the market. The traditional sloping staircase integrated inside the tower means that access to the working platform is now easier and safer than a vertical ladder.

The stair design provides a much more flexible working environment, as tools & materials can now be carried up through the tower by the end-user, eliminating the need for winches, ropes, or cranes.

HSE guidance clearly identifies ladders as a means of access of last resort. Specifying an Alto Stair Tower is one more step towards eliminating ladder access from your site.

2500 kg

Tower Loading

The Alto Heavy Duty access tower range offers a significantly higher total loading capacity compared to competitor towers, making it more suitable for demanding professional applications. Competitor tower loadings range from 650 kg to 950 kg. Now, just think, which tower would you rather be working on 12 metres up in the air?

12 m

Free standing Height

Limited by the EN 1004 standard, the maximum free standing platform height for standard towers is 8 metres for outdoor use (where the tower is exposed to wind loads) and 12 metres for indoor use (in sheltered conditions with negligible wind). Want to go higher? With Alto HD this is no problem. As standard, we offer guidance and instructions for stabilising our towers so you can make much taller structures with confidence and in safety.

Only Alto HD is designed from the outset to do this. Contact us today to discuss your options.

Compatibility Within Ranges.

Manufactured using the same components as its ladderspan counterpart, the Alto Heavy Duty Stair Tower is a fully accessible mobile access tower that uses traditional flights of stairs to gain access to the work platforms, rather than the vertical ladder design. When the Alto HD range is used in a hire fleet, only a handful of additional components need to be stocked in order to offer both styles of tower to the end user.

The Alto HD Stair Tower is ideally suited for longer-term installs or on jobs where the work platform needs to be accessed from the ground more frequently than normal. Or indeed, where a tied in tower is being used for access to another place.

FEATURES

Inclined Stair Access

A traditional sloping staircase integrated inside the tower means that access to the working platform is easier and safer than a vertical ladder. Tools & materials can now be carried up through the tower by the end-user instead of requiring winches, ropes or cranes.

FEATURES

3mm Thick Tube

The use of durable 3mm thick aluminium tube means wear & tear damage is dramatically reduced. It is 4 times more resistant to denting and crushing than the lightweight tower alternatives.

FEATURES

Scaffold Compatible

The ALTO Heavy Duty Tower - like the rest of the ALTO Access range - is manufactured using 48mm diameter tube, the same diameter as traditional steel scaffolding. This means adaptations and tying in is very easy because you can use standard tube & fittings which you cannot with a lightweight system.

FEATURES

Fully Welded Joints

Every welded joint on the ALTO Heavy Duty Tower is fully welded around the tube. This means fractured welds are a thing of the past and make the tower a much more rigid structure with joints 5 times stronger in tension & 13 times stronger in bending.

FEATURES

Non-Jamming Head Fittings

The ALTO conical head fittings prevent frames from jamming when dismantling towers so hammer damage is totally eliminated. An additional benefit of the head fittings is the frames automatically lock together during assembly, eliminating the requirement for flimsy, awkward spring clips that can be lost or damaged and render the tower unusable.
